Love is a Dying Request

"What is it you want from me?"

Once, twice, thrice I've tried
Togetherness and weathered lines.
They're not for me I do resign,
Consistently I've been denied.

The chance I past I bent and cried,
I gave love, is that too much?
Together today, we're not as such,
Define the way of a wound defied.

Define the way a wound would cause,
The agony of troth with one.
When not returned the one is done,
The history of love to pause.

Is that the way of such trusted laws?
If that is the way of love so be it.
Love is forever, if ever we'll see it,
Falter under un-fated claws.

Once, twice, thrice I've tried,
Consistently I've been denied.
The chance I past I bent and cried,
Define the way of a wound defied.

Define the way a wound would cause,
The history of love to pause.
Is that the way of such trusted laws?
To falter under un-fated claws.

If that is the way of love so be it,
Love is forever, if ever we'll see it.
