Please Rise Sunset
The thunderclouds roll by,
As the crest of church bells hum.
I fall into an earthy tomb
As I stare at what blurs the sun.
I've never felt such pressure,
I've never felt such pain.
I long to be in my mother's womb
Where the cold can't catch the rain.
What follows my mindless days,
Is a crafted streak of power.
Like God has given new life to me
As light has struck the hour.
I've never felt this worried,
I've never felt contained.
But I chance upon this happiness
Where the cold stays far away.
Life has given what's best for me,
Like a thunder cloud.
I was that way, that thunderous way,
Until I donned my shroud.
